What is your standard turnaround?
Turnaround depends on the project. We make sure to communicate with our customers the expected turnaround. Standard turnaround for a printed piece with simple bindery is 3-4 working days. Custom bindery may increase turnaround to 7-10 working days. A quicker turnaround can be requested although rush charges may apply.

What is the best way to get my files to you?
Most art is supplied on CD's, but we can also take floppy's and 100m Zip disks. You can also go to the uploads section of this site and upload your files to our FTP site or you can email them to us as long as they are under 3.5 megs and stuffed or ziped.

What’s the difference between you and a quick print shop?
We pride ourselves on our customer service. We work with you to make sure your project is what you want while making sure it meets our quality standards. At Stroud’s you will always know who you are talking to.

Why doesn’t the color of my printed piece match that on my computer screen or from my laser?
The colors on a computer screen are made up of 3 colors: red, green, blue (RGB) whereas printing is done using the four color process, C-M-Y-K (cyan, magenta, yellow & black) or in SPOT colors using the Pantone Matching Systems (PMS).

All color lasers are not the same and most have not been calibrated so when our proofs do not color match your laser this is pretty typical. Our machines are calibrated to give true color.

Can you ship the final piece direct to another office?
We can ship the final product to any location.

Why does a higher quantity of materials cost less than a lower quantity?
The more pieces you do, the less the cost per piece is. Much of the expense in printing is on the front end, setting up the press. Once the press is running it takes little cost to keep it running.

What types of files are best?
We can accept files in Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Freehand MX. We can also accept but is not preferred, Word, Excel and Publisher. If supplying a PDF please make sure that all fonts are embedded and that the PDF was created using the highest settings, usually called "Press Quality". This should be one of the presets that come with the basic install. If you do not have one of the above applications then an EPS file format is acceptable, but please make sure that fonts are converted to outlines. High resolution TIF's are also acceptable but are harder to correct if any corrections need to be made. High resolution is 300 at print size.
